Flood relief concert raises $30,000

Flood victims across the province have received a big boost from the people of Saskatoon.

The flood relief fundraiser concert organized by Saskatoon musician Stephen Maguire raised $30,000 for the Saskatchewan Red Cross. More than 600 people attended the benefit concert Monday evening at Third Avenue United Church.

The event was hosted by media personalities Kaveri Bittira of CBC and Veronica Jubinville of CTV. The event was supported by Potash Corp. of Saskatchewan Inc., which matched every dollar raised. All the proceeds will directly benefit the Red Cross relief efforts in communities across the province affected by severe weather.
