The Borden Booster - February 1, 2009
Irish entertainer returns to Borden
By Ferne Hebig
What with St. Patrick’s day coming up the timing is perfect, as we are likely all starting to notice a bit o’ the green around us. His self-titled album,
recorded at Freedom Sound in Yorkton, was released in July 2008, and includes tracks such as Sheltered Man, Without a Trace, and Streets of Belfast. It’s a smooth, soulful sound with a folk flair. Stephen keeps it simple, just himself, a guitar and a microphone, and it’s this which allows you to really be drawn in to the depth and soul of his lyrics. The Irish lilt to his voice lets you know he’s not quite from around these parts, which adds an air of intrigue.
His character & personality are captivating, and he is truly one of a kind. He’s kicking off his 2009 tour right here in the prairies, and his album will be available that night as well! So slap on your lucky boots and stroll on down to the pub for a pint, and an evening of great entertainment. Sláinte!
